National Church Residences
The purpose of the study is to determine the number of consumers who currently reside in nursing homes who could receive adequate care in National Church Residences (NCR) or NCR equivalent type facilities and to determine the cost differential between these facilities for similar type residents.
These types of facilities are essential because affordable housing options for individuals with disabilities is limited. Many of these individuals are placed, by default, in nursing homes even though the cost of providing care for these individuals could be provided at lower cost in the community at least in theory. NCR affordable senior housing units (ALHUs) may provide a low cost alternative for these individuals to live and receive services, particularly if these individuals are at risk of institutionalization.
This project is funded by Health Management and Associates, and supported by National Church Residences. For more information about this project, please click [here] to read the proposal.
