About Us

The Direct Service Workforce Initiative builds upon efforts to assure access to appropriate long-term care services for older adults and people of all ages with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Among these efforts are work of the Unified Long-Term Care System Advisory Group, lead by the Ohio Department of Aging to unify long-term services and supports, and budget initiatives lead by the Office of Health Transformation to rebalance long-term care by consolidating Medicaid Waiver programs, establishing a single point of coordination to serve individuals with dual Medicaid/Medicare eligibility, developing Health Homes for individuals with chronic conditions, and integrating behavioral health and primary care.
