Adaptive Exercises Endurance Transcript Elizabeth: There are many ways to work on endurance. Tamara is doing this by working on her sit to stands. When you are doing sit to stands, make sure you keep your back straight, try not to bend forward, and don’t press on your knees when you are rising. Make sure your lower body is doing all the work. Lindsey: You can keep your arms on your shoulders to help remind you not to push off on your legs and to also keep your shoulders back so that your back is straight. Elizabeth: Tamara is also doing arm circles to work on her endurance. When you are doing these, make sure to keep your arms straight, your shoulders out of your ears. You can make large circles, small circles, you can do them fast, slow, and go in either direction to get different results. Alena is also doing arm circles from a seated position. Lindsey: Terry is also demonstrating his version of arm circles. He has more mobility in his left arm than he does in his right, so here he is moving to the best of his ability. He’s got his arm circling forward, he’s making big arm circles, and he’s working on his flexibility while he is doing that. He wants to make sure to go back in the opposite direction to get a little bit of a different work in that shoulder. And he’s obviously having a great time while he’s doing his arm circles here! Then he’s going to switch it up on you and start doing some twists with his arm circles and going from side to side, which is a great way to start working on your core muscles. Remember, you can switch it up and make your endurance every way possible that works for you!
