Ohio Disability and Health Partnership EMBED Competence Learning Community Call
The EMBED Competence training project seeks to establish baseline education on disability competence for medical and other health professional learners. The course provides faculty with the knowledge and curricular resources to embed the "Core Competencies on Disability for Health Care Education" into interdisciplinary health professional training programs.

Want to receive support from the Ohio Disability and Health Partnership EMBED Competence team on how to apply lessons learned from the training? Then join our monthly faculty learning community calls! Information on our first learning community call is below:
- Date and Time: Friday March 20, 2026, 11:00-11:45am
- Location: Zoom (you will receive Zoom link within 2 business days of registration)
- Topic: Introduction to the need for disability competence training, the Core Competencies on Disability for Health Care Education, and models of embedding disability training in curricula

Why is this training needed?
- Ohioans with disabilities experience worse health outcomes compared to Ohioans without disabilities
- Ohioans with disabilities say that healthcare professional students need more training about disability
- Ohio healthcare professional students in the final years of their program say that they do not feel adequately prepared to work with patients with disabilities and want more training about disability

- Faculty and staff in any healthcare professional training program
- Anyone interested in learning about disability competence training
- Note: this training includes ASL interpretation for all videos
