Jeffrey Shero, PhD

Jeffrey Shero joined the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) in March 2026 and currently serves as a Research Consultant in the Population Health and Quality Improvement Analytics section. He works on quality improvement and applied health analytics initiatives focused on chronic disease management, healthcare quality, and population health. His current projects include QI Hub and State Directed Payments, with work related to diabetes, hypertension, and healthcare quality measurement. In his role, Jeffrey applies his expertise in quantitative research, data analysis, data management, and statistical methodology to support evidence-based decision-making and improve healthcare outcomes.

Before joining the GRC, Jeffrey was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Peabody College of Education at Vanderbilt University, where his research focused on quantitative methodology, science and research policy, and individual differences in cognitive development. He also previously worked with the Florida Department of Health, Division of Children’s Medical Services, where he supported projects in health policy, biostatistics, epidemiology, and program evaluation. During this time, he developed strong skills in research design, data management, statistical modeling, open science, and the translation of complex quantitative methods into applied policy and practice settings. He utilizes this expertise to contribute to evidence-based healthcare research and quality improvement initiatives.

Jeffrey also serves as a Lecturer at The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs. He holds a BS in Human Development and Family Science and a Master of Public Administration from The Ohio State University. He earned his MS in Developmental Psychology and PhD in Psychology from Florida State University, where his training focused on developmental science, advanced quantitative methods, and individual differences in cognitive development.
