Matthew Swanson, PhD

Reporting and Analytics Analyst

Matthew Swanson, PhD, joins as a Reporting and Analytics Analyst within the Data Solutions & Visualizations section. He is currently involved in both the Outcomes Acceleration for Kids (OAK) and AGE/ICC projects.

Prior to joining GRC, Dr. Swanson took a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area where he conducted program evaluations and meta-analysis for suicide intervention programs across the Department of the Navy. More recently, Dr. Swanson served as a research & evaluation consultant at Safal Partners and as a graduate course designer at Brandeis University where he designed graduate courses in psychometrics, focusing largely on applications of classical test theory, item response theory, and Rasch models.

Dr. Swanson holds a B.S. in Psychology from Kent State University and an M.A. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from The University of Akron. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from The University of Nebraska at Omaha with a focus on workplace authenticity and psychological safety. His research centers on muti-level research design, differential item functioning, workplace authenticity, meaningful work, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
