Yoshie Kim, MS

Yoshie is a Research Consultant within the Data Science and Engineering section at the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC), specializing in metric construction, NCQA HEDIS measure coding, and analysis of Medicaid administrative data. Her work focuses on translating complex data into actionable insights that support state Medicaid programs and health system improvement initiatives. Yoshie has a B.A. in International Studies with a specialization in Development from The Ohio State University and a M.S. in Applied Economics from the University of North Dakota. She is a SAS Certified Professional in Advanced Programming.

At GRC, Yoshie has contributed extensively to the development and implementation of quality measures derived from Medicaid claims data, including work supporting HEDIS-aligned measure construction for the Data Analytics and Care Innovation and Community Improvement Program (CICIP) projects. She developed analytic workflows and validated measure specifications to ensure accuracy and reproducibility. Yoshie has also supported the predictive modeling work for the Infant Mortality Research Partnership (IMRP) project by generating analytic datasets derived from Medicaid and Vital Statistics data. Her work has contributed to research around preterm birth, infant mortality, postpartum depression, and severe maternal morbidity and mortality among the Ohio Medicaid population.
