The Anti-Stigma Institute conference, held in Washington D.C. from April 7 to April 9, provided Ashley Wilson, RN, with invaluable training focused on reducing stigma associated with substance use disorders (SUD).

The program offered education on addiction stigma, a toolkit for measuring stigma, and certification to deliver two evidence-based interventions: Responding to Addiction and enCompass. Responding to Addiction is designed for professionals such as healthcare providers and faith leaders, while enCompass is intended for families and caregivers. The training also covered launching community-wide anti-stigma social media campaigns. Ashley earned 10 continuing education credits and participated in networking sessions to share best practices.
