Interview of Ohio Mothers on Medicaid

The Interview of Ohio Mothers on Medicaid (IMOM) project will examine barriers that women of reproductive age experience when trying to access interventions related to tobacco cessation, prematurity prevention, and optimal birth spacing as identified in Ohio Senate Bill 332. At the request of the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM),GRC will implement one-on-one interviews with a sample of women insured by the Ohio Medicaid program who had a recent delivery.

The objectives of the IMOM project are to: 1) provide qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategies for the efficient and effective administration of Ohio’s Medicaid program; 2) facilitate thematic analyses to identify common barriers to access to health interventions; and 3) produce a report of key findings from the interviews.

Interviews will be conducted with approximately 60-75 women every six months. Women throughout the state are randomly selected from Ohio Medicaid records to complete the telephone interview.

If you have been contacted to complete this important interview and have questions or concerns, please contact GRC at 614-456-6497.
