The Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey (OMAS) team recently released county-level small area estimation (SAE) maps and tables, bringing Ohio’s statewide population health snapshot into sharper focus.

The small-area-estimate methodology used for the new maps gives researchers, analysts and policymakers a modeled outcome prediction for each county in Ohio where small sample sizes from the survey would have previously resulted in poor or imprecise direct estimates for each county.

View the maps and methodology here or visit the 2019 OMAS project page for more information. Contact the OMAS team at omas@osumc.edu with any questions on the SAE methodology or maps.

The Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey (OMAS) series provides information about health care access, utilization, and health status of residential Ohioans at the state, regional, and county levels, with a concentration on Ohio’s Medicaid, Medicaid-eligible, and non-Medicaid populations.
