Frederica Jackson joined the Ohio College of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) in February 2026 as a Senior Researcher. She is a mixed- methods public health researcher whose work focuses on maternal and child health, pregnancy and infant loss, and how health systems and policies shape families’ experiences and outcomes. At GRC, Frederica works on projects related to the Ohio Study of Associated Risks of Stillbirth (SOARS), the Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey (OMAS), the Cardiovascular Health Learning Collaborative (CVHLC), and the Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) and Comprehensive Maternal Care (CMC) monitoring projects. Her work includes survey and qualitative study design, data analysis, and translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights for Medicaid and State partners, with strong emphasis on health equity.

Prior to joining GRC, Frederica served as a Research Specialist with the Indiana Department of Health’s Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) team, where she contributed to projects on pregnancy and infant loss and led a mixed- methods retrospective study on lactation education after perinatal loss within a statewide Lactation After Loss program. She has also conducted research on infant feeding, including the use of pasteurized donor human milk for preterm and medically fragile infants and the intersection of donor milk and bereavement lactation. Frederica holds a Ph.D. in Applied Health Science (Health Behavior) from Indiana University Bloomington, an MPH in Social and Public Health and an MA in International Development Studies from Ohio University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana.
