Kelly Markowski joined the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) in January of 2022. She currently works on the "Big 3" and Medicaid Next Generation Evaluation (MNGE) projects which evaluate central aspects of the Ohio Department of Medicaid's Next Generation of Managed Care (NGMC) program. She also works on the Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey (OMAS) and SUD 1115 Evaluation projects. Kelly is a mixed methods researcher with expertise in qualitative data collection as well as survey questionnaire design and analysis.
Prior to joining the GRC, Kelly completed a 2-year postdoctoral position in the Rural Drug Addiction Research (RDAR) Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology from Kent State University and holds a B.A. in sociology and psychology from Bradley University. Her independent research spans a variety of topics (including identity, social networks, veganism, and substance use) and has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Social Psychology, Social Psychology Quarterly, Advances in Group Processes, Appetite, Addictive Behaviors, and the American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
