The Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) today announced updates to the Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey (OMAS) dashboard, Ohio’s most comprehensive and interactive source of statewide population health data with a focus on Ohioans who are receiving or eligible for Medicaid assistance.

The dashboard is a free, user-driven tool that helps state agencies, local communities and researchers monitor effects of health policy, identify gaps in health services, and examine Ohioans’ health status and health risk.

“This powerful health research tool has been made even stronger with speed, usability and feature updates that improve the overall user experience,” said GRC Research Scientist Dr. Robert Ashmead. “The result is ultimately a more impactful assessment of Ohio’s public health landscape.”

The dashboard and the accompanying statewide survey is a collaborative effort among Ohio’s state health and human service agencies, led by the Ohio Department of Medicaid and the Ohio Department of Health.

The Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey is the largest and longest running state-specific population health survey in the United States and is facilitated by academic researchers at Ohio’s seven colleges of medicine.
