GRC's Michelle Menegay and Ayanna Terry were invited to present at the 2024 Ohio Fatherhood Summit, hosted by the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood and the Ohio Department of Children and Youth. Their 75-minute session focused on findings from the 2022 Ohio Fatherhood Survey, which provided key insights into fatherhood programs and family engagement across the state. The presentation highlighted important trends and data that inform Ohio’s ongoing efforts to support fathers and families.

The summit featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including leaders from Ohio’s Department of Children and Youth, the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Notable speakers included former NFL player Anthony Muñoz and Ohio House and Senate representatives, contributing to an inspiring and informative event.

Michelle and Ayanna’s session was well-received by attendees, sparking lively discussions and engagement on the survey’s findings. One particularly exciting follow-up came from an Emeritus Professor at The Ohio State University, who expressed interest in requesting data from the Ohio Fatherhood Survey. The continued interest and dialogue following their presentation underscore the relevance and impact of the research, as it plays a key role in shaping future fatherhood programs in Ohio.

The 2024 Ohio Fatherhood Summit provided an excellent platform for fostering meaningful conversations around fatherhood and family engagement.
