The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA)2024 Annual Conference, held from October 23-26 in New Orleans, was a premier event for medical communicators. Covering essential topics like health communication, medical editing and writing, and leadership, the conference provided attendees with valuable insights and skills to enhance their professional practices.

James highlighted the importance of learning about emerging trends in AI and the value of sharing ideas with like-minded writers from across the country. “The opportunity to discuss the latest advancements in AI and Large Language Models with peers was incredibly valuable,” James said. “It’s inspiring to see how these technologies are shaping the future of medical communication.”
