Focus on ME Project Seeking Primary Care Providers for Women’s Mental Health Quality Improvement Opportunity

Are you a primary care provider seeking to improve the way you treat stress, anxiety, and depression in women of reproductive age? Women are twice as likely as men to develop depression or anxiety throughout their lifetime, yet fewer than half of women who experience clinically significant depression or anxiety receive care.

The Focus on ME project seeks to address these unique practice challenges and improve clinical care related to depression and anxiety for Ohio women seen in primary care practices. Participants in this program will deliver evidence-based best practices, execute Plan-Do-Study-Act Cycles, and receive EHR data analysis to achieve quality improvement goals.

Specifically, the Focus on ME program engages Quality Improvement (QI) teams to:

  • Screen patients for anxiety and depression and connect them to appropriate resources
  • Improve office processes and best practices for depression and anxiety for women ages 18-44
  • Address screening differences among racial and ethnic groups to improve health equity
  • Structure robust quality improvement interventions and measure results
  • Earn 20 AAFP CME credits
