Quality Improvement

The Quality Improvement (QI) science approach ensures that patients receive the most appropriate care at the most appropriate times. QI emphasizes patient-centered care and practitioners’ offices practicing population-base medicine in a reliable way.

The QI science approaches that have been developed and implemented by the QI team have demonstrated substantial improvements in the quality of care offered through participating providers’ practices. The model for collaboration includes:

  • The leadership of physician champions (subject matter experts)
  • QI science experts
  • Recruitment of motivated Medicaid practitioners who are interested in improving patient-centered care

Several GRC staff members are highly certified in QI science techniques. Staff QI experts have completed the following reputable Quality Improvement Courses:

  • Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School
  • Yellow Belt
  • Green Belt
  • Black Belt
  • LEAN Tool Awareness
  • College of Public Health (CPH) Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Fundamentals
