What is MedTAPP?

Led by the Ohio Department of Medicaid, Ohio’s health and human services state agencies partner with the GRC to strengthen their use of data, improve program performance, and achieve better outcomes statewide. Through the Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program (MedTAPP), the GRC expands the state’s capacity to apply high‑quality research and data to inform policy, enhance program quality, and advance population health. MedTAPP leverages the academic expertise found across Ohio’s colleges of medicine and both public and private universities to improve healthcare quality for over three million Ohioans insured through Medicaid.

MedTAPP utilizes a multi-agency agreement that allows for the expenditure of Medicaid Federal Financial Participation (FFP) funds to support public health research projects that contribute to the “efficient and effective administration of the Medicaid program.”
