Applied Research and Analysis Capabilities

  • Study & Research Design

    Using models such as quasi-experimental design, pre/post assessments, and mixed-methods, the GRC uses the best approaches to answer any research question. 

  • Survey Research

    The GRC develops and administers both small and large scale surveys, including Ohio’s largest statewide health survey.

  • Qualitative Data Collection & Analysis

    To aid in program evaluation and other projects, the Applied Research and Analysis team expertly develops and collects first-hand qualitative data.  

  • Administrative data

    The GRC links data from EHRs and other sources to develop and measure important health and human services metrics.

  • Data Visualizations

    Working with the Data Solutions team, the GRC translates qualitative, administrative and survey data into easily digestible visualizations.

  • Statistical Analysis

    The GRC team effectively uses regression and casual modeling, predictive analysis, and geospatial analysis to analyze trends and relationships of administrative and other types of data. 

  • Reporting

    The GRC’s briefs, chartbooks, and reports, and other written materials make data compelling, informational, and visually appealing.

  • Data Management & Governance

    The GRC takes responsible management of data seriously, expertly keeping HIPAA and other data private. 

Applied Research and Analysis is often used in:

Population health surveillance, tracking the pulse of statewide health 
Program and policy evaluations, assessing effectiveness and measuring impact
Technical assistance, providing needed guidance to state and federal programs
