Researcher

Sarah is a Senior Researcher at the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC), where she specializes in data visualization and quality improvement. She earned her master’s degree in Translational Data Analytics from The Ohio State University and her bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University.

In her role, Sarah developed quality improvement (QI) measures for the Outcomes Acceleration for Kids (OAK) Learning Network and conducted analyses that supported data-driven decision-making for physicians, particularly in the well-child and behavioral health domains. As part of the QI Hub project, she collaborated with the Ohio colleges of medicine to process electronic health record (EHR) data and design visualizations that highlighted improvements in key performance measures. On the Care2 Quality Improvement Project, Sarah maintained and enhanced the R Shiny dashboard that is used by physicians to track their clinic’s progress on maternal and infant health interventions.

Prior to joining GRC, Sarah taught fifth-grade math and science and seventh-grade math. In the classroom, she leveraged student data to inform instruction, enhance learning outcomes, and tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
