Focus: Medicaid Population Assessments
Expertise: Data Engineering and Solutions

For the Data Analytics project, the Ohio Department of Medicaid contracts with GRC to complete various technical assistance tasks including:

•    Recording linkage between ODM and other data sets, including Vital Statistics data and Pregnancy Risk Assessment Forms (PRAFs)
•    Health quality metric coding, reporting, certification, and analysis based on the National Center for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and other similar methodologies for use by ODM
•    Other analysis of Medicaid administrative data, including internally defined quality metrics, utilization, and cost analyses to support Ohio Department of Medicaid programs and initiatives
•    Periodic Medicaid administrative data extractions of individuals receiving care at certain health systems
•    Training for ODM analysts as requested
•    Additional technical assistance as requested

These products are used by the Department of Medicaid to monitor population health, study key issues in population health and health services research, evaluate current initiatives, and inform on the design of new policies and programs.
